Consumer Reports is a subscription based site that often times your local library will have a free sub to

This is a very misleading article with an even more misleading title. This article is comparing apples and oranges- systems designed for completely different functions- and declaring that the systems designed for function A are better at function A than the systems that were not designed for function A.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/car-safety/active-driving-assistance-systems-review-a2103632203/) reduced by 97%. (I’m a bot)
*****
> The two ADA systems that CR rates highest, Ford's BlueCruise and General Motors' Super Cruise, use direct driver monitoring systems that require drivers to keep their eyes on the road even while the systems are automating steering, acceleration, and braking.

> The 12 active driving assistance systems we tested were put through their paces around the track at our 327-acre Auto Test Center in Connecticut and on a 50-mile loop on public roads between September and December 2022.

> Unlike active safety systems, such as automatic emergency braking, that intervene only momentarily when necessary to help prevent a collision, active driving assistance systems provide continuous support intended to make driving easier-for instance when you're on a long, boring highway drive, or when you get stuck in a slow-moving traffic jam.

It was only a matter of time. Tesla was never going to keep up with the big guys once they got on board.
